The Cheshire Double Box Bed is our smallest 2 seater sofabed meaning it will fit virtually anywhere.  So, if you have a caravan, canal boat, narrow doorway or spiral stairs this could be the choice for you.  Although the Cheshire Double Boxbed is smaller it is manufactured exactly the same way as our larger 2 seater sofabeds

The Cheshire Double Box Bed is delivered fully assembled.  To use as a bed rather than a seat, pouffe or ottoman, remove the seat cushion and fold out the sofabed action.  The folded out sofabed is the size of a small double bed, 188cm x 119cm, which is ideal for guest and occasional use.  The bed has a foam mattress which sits on a trampoline base, thus mimicking the feeling and comfort of a fully sprung mattress.

The Cheshire Double Box Bed has a fully upholstered frame with a foam seat cushion.  The Box bed is made to order, in your choice of fabric, in our UK based factories. Once completed our white glove two-man delivery team will deliver your new sofabed, at a pre-agreed delivery time, to a room of your choice.

  1. Your Fabric Selection *

    Please make a selection from the fabric choices available.

  2. Mattress Upgrade *

    Your new sofabed comes with a foam mattress and a trampoline base. Please note all mattresses fold into the sofabed action.

  3. Add Duvet and Pillow Set

    Your can add a set of 2 pillows and a duvet to your sofabed. Our Deluxe Set is a 15 tog hollow fibre duvet with polycotton outer and polycotton covered pillows. Our Egyptian Cotton Hotel Quality Set is a 13.5 tog feather duvet with Egyptian cotton outer and Egyptian cotton covered pillows. Please note the duvet and pillows will need to be stored separately to your sofabed.

  4. Add Scatter Cushions

    You can order 1, 2, 3 or 4 scatter cushions made to order in fabric to match your new sofabed. Our scatters are fibre filled and are 40cm square.

  5. Wider Bed Upgrade

    Your new sofabed comes with a sofabed action that is the same size as a small double bed as standard (188cm x 119cm) Upgrade to a standard double bed size action (188cm x 139cm). This upgrade will also have the benefit of increasing the width of the seating area by approximately 20cm. Please note it will increase the Total Width of your sofabed by 20cm, so you need to ensure that this will fit in your room.

  6. Hotel Sofabed Action

    Your new sofabed comes with a domestic specification sofabed action. Upgrade to a 2 fold hotel grade sofabed action. This upgrade will have the benefit of a much stronger metal frame and a deeper 10cm mattress. Please note the total depth of your sofa will increase by 20cm and the width will increase by 1cm, so you need to ensure that this will fit in your room. <!– – what is this? –>

  7. Storage Footstool

    Your can order a footstool to match your sofabed. These will be manufactured in the same fabric as your sofabed. Available as a Small (45cm high x 52cm wide x 52cm deep) or as a Large (45cm high x 104cm wide x 52cm deep)

Went the extra mile

This company has been great. They knew I had visitors about to descend on me and went the extra mile to get the bed delivered in good time, I am very grateful. They took great care carrying the bed through the house to my room of choice.
The product is beautiful, well made and sturdy. It looks a nice piece of furniture when folded away and in situ

Double Box Bed

This a really good quality item, and looks great in my studio. Additional seating and a spare bed for visitors - both practical and space-saving.

Good sturdy piece of furniture

Quite a boxy item style-wise (though that’s exactly what it looks like online). Could do with being ‘softer’ round the edges visually and since the top comes off completely, it might be good to offer different style options for that element eg button top with rounded edges. Would be useful if the lid was hinged & also doubled as a headboard.
The top is also extremely firm, so not the most comfortable thing to sit on. Could do with being a bit softer, to make it feel more like a piece of seating rather than just a spare bed. That said, whilst it hasn’t been slept on yet, the ottoman-to-bed transition is easy to use and looks sturdy. The removable top could also double as a small bed for a young child, so that’s a bonus too.
Since it’s a ‘sofa’ bed, it is very heavy. This isn’t an issue other than at delivery. It’s delivered to chosen room which is great. There isn’t however an option to have the delivery persons unwrap it from its polythene & bubble wrap casing. I’m happy to dispose of packaging, but would have been happy to pay a wee bit extra to have the packaging taken off as the item was too heavy for me to do that myself.
Overall, I’m happy with my purchase. There might be some prettier options out there, but they’re more than twice the cost. Great value for money.

Sofa bed box - brilliant design

Wonderful quality and workmanship
Lid is too heavy - better if it was on a hinge system and combine into a headboard somehow .
Gap behind the bed (hotel mattress base ) is too big which was not explained fully so looks strange when opened up into a bed.
Bed is comfortable
Despite some negatives a great product and customer service is 11/10 😀
