 The Sussex Single Box Bed is also our smallest piece of furniture meaning it will fit virtually anywhere.  So, if you have a caravan, canal boat, narrow doorway or spiral stairs this could be the choice for you.

Although the Sussex Single Boxbed is smaller it is manufactured exactly the same way as our larger 2 seater sofabeds.

The Sussex Single Box Bed is supplied fully assembled.  To use as a bed rather than a seat, pouffe or ottoman, simply remove the seat cushion and fold out the sofabed action.  The folded out sofabed is the size of a small single bed, which is ideal for guests and sleepovers.  The bed has a foam mattress which sits on a trampoline base, thus mimicking the feeling and comfort of a fully sprung mattress.

The Sussex Single Box Bed has a fully upholstered frame with a foam seat cushion.  The Box bed is made to order, in your choice of fabric, in our UK based factories. Once completed our white glove two-man delivery team will deliver your new sofabed, at a pre-agreed delivery time, to a room of your choice.

  1. Your Fabric Selection *

    Please make a selection from the fabric choices available.

  2. Mattress Upgrade *

    Your new sofabed comes with a foam mattress and a trampoline base. Please note all mattresses fold into the sofabed action.

  3. Add Duvet and Pillow Set

    Your can add a set of 2 pillows and a duvet to your sofabed. Our Deluxe Set is a 15 tog hollow fibre duvet with polycotton outer and polycotton covered pillows. Our Egyptian Cotton Hotel Quality Set is a 13.5 tog feather duvet with Egyptian cotton outer and Egyptian cotton covered pillows. Please note the duvet and pillows will need to be stored separately to your sofabed.

  4. Add Scatter Cushions

    You can order 1, 2, 3 or 4 scatter cushions made to order in fabric to match your new sofabed. Our scatters are fibre filled and are 40cm square.

  5. Storage Footstool

    Your can order a footstool to match your sofabed. These will be manufactured in the same fabric as your sofabed. Available as a Small (45cm high x 52cm wide x 52cm deep) or as a Large (45cm high x 104cm wide x 52cm deep)

Very comfy but design could be improved.

The bed is very comfortable. I got the better mattress and am very impressed. I am surprised though by the large gap at the box end of the bed when it is open, making the total length greater than is necessary, and pillows fall into the gap. I have put the stool lid in the gap but it doesn’t fit that well. Also the lid itself is presumably an empty cavity. I’m thinking of removing the underlining because that space would be useful for storing bedding when the bed is folded away.

The way that the sofabed action works it swings forward which creates a gap between the back of the boxbed and the top of the mattres action. I do appreciate that this creates a gap, however it is intentional for this type of sofabed action. I will though take your feedback and pass it ono our MD Steve who is incharge of product development.

With regards to your comment about the lid having a cavity in it, unfortunately it does not have one. if you renove the black cloth from the bottom of this you will find it has board and foam within it.

Fantastic

Bought this bed for a spare bed for my mums sheltered house to have an overnight stay with her. Fits perfectly in her main living area as extra seating. Very comfortable bed - purchased the pocket sprung mattress for extra comfort. Looks really plush in the room.

Good bed. O.K Footstool

Pros: bed is good. Comfy. Easy to take out and put away. Firm enough mattress despite being a sofa bed.

Cons: the seat cushion is very firm. Much less pleasant to sit on than the IKEA Kivik footstool it replaced. Also - chose this particular product as the height dimensions were the same as our Sofa seat height, meaning we could push the closed footstool against the sofa and create a false chaise lounge. Unfortunately the stool is around 2.5cm taller than the quoted dimensions on the website. So there is a noticeable raised lip between front of sofa and footstool. Suggest updating the dimensions on the website to be more accurate.
